We started WomenAid in February 2004 to provide healthcare, dental care and medical screenings for Rockwall County women and children in need.

"This has been awesome, because we never ever did mammogram screenings in Rockwall County before," said Kim Bowen, the director of the Helping Hands Community Clinic. "The very first year WomenAid started, we were doing mammograms."

WomenAid has already helped hundreds of Rockwall County women get expanded healthcare services through the Helping Hands clinic.

Our 2006 fundraising campaign, Rockwall Idol, collected a record amount of donations for WomenAid.

WomenAid has been so successful that it has expanded to include bone density exams, dental surgery and vision screening for both women and children. The unique feature of the Soroptimist program is that it provides a pool of funds for the clinic to use as it sees fit for women and children.

"Helping Hands has enjoyed long-term generous support from Soroptimist International of Rockwall," said Margo Nielsen, the executive director of Rockwall County Helping Hands. "Without them, women wouldn't have the bone density and mammogram services they have today."
